Dr. Dean Hess

Dr. Dean Hess is a Transformational Leader focused on inspiring deep self-reflection and growth to help leaders become the best versions of themselves.  Dean’s willingness to lead by example in practicing vulnerability, transparency, and authenticity enables him to lead processes where participants are engaged and committed to addressing their behaviors in a manner that will positively impact their professional and personal growth.   

Dr. Hess comes to the Initiative One Team with more than 30 years of leadership experience in public education and 20 years in the United States Army and Wisconsin Army National Guard.  In Education, he served as a Science Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and finally as a Superintendent of Schools for the last ten years of his career.  In each of these settings, he inspired and supported changes that positively impacted students, staff, and the communities where he served.  As an Army Officer, Dean lead at multiple levels to include Company and Task Force Commander of an aviation unit deployed to Kuwait/Iraq.  During his military service there were many leadership lessons learned, with some occurring in extreme austere conditions.

Dean lives with his wife Lucy in the Oconto Falls area with their three dogs and two cats.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, playing guitar, and investing time with Lucy and their fur family!
